The Gary Bennett Family Fund within the Central Okanagan Foundation provides their friends, other individuals, companies and organizations with an opportunity to join the Gary Bennett family in supporting a variety of local initiatives that support our community’s most challenged youth and other worthy causes in an extremely cost effective manner.

BREAKFAST PROGRAM
The Breakfast Program offers financial support to selected schools operating ‘Breakfast Programs’ in challenged catchment areas.
GATEWAY SCHOLARSHIPS
This program offers scholarships at Okanagan College for selected students who have participated in the School District 23 Central School and Okanagan College Gateway Program.
STRIVE SCHOLARSHIPS
This program offers scholarships and bursaries for selected students who have overcome significant challenges in achieving entrance to an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution.
THE NO HUNGRY CHILDREN PROGRAM
This program is a collaborative effort between The Central Okanagan Community Food Bank, Superstore and the Fund and it donors. These critical foods for infants and young children are expensive and often not purchased by low income families when shopping at stores. We work closely with the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank and Superstore Managers to maximize our purchasing power and to make more of these foods available at the Food Bank.

I am writing to express my deep appreciation for awarding me the Gary Bennett Family Achievement Award in January of this year.
As a person with a disability, the challenges in education I have been faced with have caused me to require extra time to complete my high school education. I am retaking the Gateway Program and doing very well and am prepared to start the Welding Program in 2018.
I am extremely grateful for your generosity and for the existence of funds such as yours. Without the financial support such as that given through you, many students such as myself would have to forgo a post secondary education.
Once again, thank you very much for having seen the potential in me and in so many others you have assisted over the years. I look forward to your reply.
